SUBJECT: Walk the Downs and one cannot ignore the imposing Grandstand that rises alongside the final furlong of the racecourse which is home to the world famous Epsom Derby. Whilst race days may fill the Downs with thundering hooves and enthusiastic racegoers, the rest of the year sees the gently undulating grassland dotted with people taking a walk, exercising their dog or just enjoying the view. On a clear day, one may get a glimpse of London landmarks to the north, and if one is lucky, as the sun sets in the west, one may catch a stunning sunset illuminating the sky and reflecting on the face of the Grandstand.
